Brian M. Phillips: Principal

Brian M. Phillips is the Founder and President of BMP Capital Management (now Phillips Ray Capital Management, Inc.), an investment advisory firm that manages investment portfolios for individuals and corporate retirement plans. Through BMP, Brian has full responsibility for assessing a client’s needs and implementing a portfolio strategy to best meet those needs. BMP was founded in 1995.

Prior to forming BMP, Brian worked with an investment advisory firm in Fort Worth as a registered investment advisor. In this role, Brian was responsible for making investment decisions for clients of the firm.

Brian is a graduate of Southern Methodist University in Dallas with a B.A. concentrating in Economics and Finance. He received his MBA from the University of Texas at Austin.

Brian lives in Fort Worth, Texas with his wife Kelly and daughters Berkeley and Barrett.

Paul R. Ray III: Principal

Before partnering with Brian, Paul was a Junior Partner at Buena Venture Associates, LLP (BVA), a venture capital firm comprised of three individuals: Sid Bass, Paul Ray III and John Pergande. BVA’s focus is primarily on the financial services industry, particularly Insurance. Paul played a very active role with these portfolio companies, through an interim operating role and Board representation. Paul was also instrumental in sourcing and analyzing new opportunities for the firm and was very involved in negotiating and closing new acquisitions.

Prior to joining BVA, Paul was an Associate at The Penrose Group, LLC, a private investment arm of the Rosenthal family in Fort Worth. At Penrose, Paul was very active in the day-to-day management of the firm’s portfolio companies and was responsible for seeking out and analyzing potential new investments.

Paul is a graduate of The University of Texas at Austin with a B.A. concentrating in Psychology and English. He received his MBA from the University of Texas at Austin where he focused on Finance and Management.

Paul currently lives in Fort Worth, Texas with his wife Chelsea, daughter Isabella and son Paul.
